MAKE A DIFFERENCE
SAAF strives to make the volunteer experience a positive one for all who generously donate their time to our agency’s mission. In our efforts to maintain this level of care it is important to have general safety guidelines. We have minimum requirements that must be maintained for the safety and well-being of all who volunteer, as well as the confidentiality of the people we serve.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

Reception/light office work

Group yard beautification

Kitchen/hot meal assistance, kitchen prep and clean-up

Housekeeping and maintenance

Event support: Webb Party, Run & Walk, World AIDS Day and others
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for all volunteers wishing to volunteer in-house are:

Fill volunteer application

Completion of a confidentiality agreement

Background check (SAAF does not charge for this.)

HIV 101 awareness class (in-house)

AGE REQUIREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS
​
For volunteers: Volunteers under 18 years of age must have an adult present during their volunteer time. Volunteers under the age of 18, unfortunately will not be able to volunteer onsite. Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years of age to volunteer with SAAF (offsite activities only) for liability and safety concerns.

For groups: Volunteers under 18 years of age must have at least one adult chaperone.

For all ages: Appropriate dress is required to volunteer.
​
Basic expectations: Volunteers must wear appropriate pants, have closed-toe shoes and must wear short- or long-sleeved shirts, no tank tops. All clothing should fit appropriately (for example, not skin-tight) and not have hanging straps or revealing clothing (too low-cut, bare midriff, etc.). Please ask the volunteer coordinator should you have any specific questions.
